Memorial Team / Color Guard

In Boot Camp, recruits are taught the principles of honor, courage and commitment which are applied as Marines take care of their own.

When Marine Corps League member Bryon Murray was laid to rest on 04 February 2002, with full military honors, it was not by his fellow Marines.  As a result, Detachment #993 Charter Members Ken Anderson and Billy Snider began the process of building our present Memorial Team to ensure area Marines did indeed take care of their own

After many practice sessions, the team was certified for participation in the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program on 9 September 2004, by a member of that organization. To date, the Detachment 993 Memorial Team has completed 1502  funerals (04-11-2018).
